Here are the 10 most common after-sales issues with brake pads, along with professional solutions, compiled based on industry experience:

1. Brake squeal (high-frequency issue)
Reasons: The new brake pads have not fully worn in with the old brake discs, scratches on the brake discs have not been addressed, or the wheel cylinders are not returning properly.
Solution: It is recommended to run in the vehicle for 300–500 kilometers. If unusual noises persist, check the flatness of the brake discs or the condition of the wheel cylinders.
2. The brakes feel soft.
Cause: Incomplete air bleeding during installation or degraded brake fluid.
Solution: Bleed the brake lines to remove air, and replace the brake fluid with DOT4 standard fluid if necessary.
3. The brake does not return to its original position.
Cause: The master pump piston is stuck due to contamination.
Solution: Professionally clean the pump piston assembly, using a specialized lubricant.
4. Smoke appears after the new film is installed.
Cause: High-temperature decomposition of organic components (especially on long downhill sections)
Solution: This is a normal phenomenon. If smoking persists, check whether brake pads made of different materials have been mixed together.
5. Brake direction deviation
Reason: Uneven braking force between the left and right wheels.
Solution: A pressure check of the four-wheel braking system is required; it may be necessary to replace the brake pads from the same batch.
6. Pedal-tapping foot
Cause: Abnormal wear on the brake disc has resulted in grooves.
Solution: Brake discs and pads must be replaced simultaneously; replacing them individually is prohibited.
7. Rapid wear
Cause: Low-quality materials or aggressive driving
Solution: You can apply for quality inspection by providing purchase receipts from official channels. Normal wear and tear is not covered under the warranty.
8. The online purchase does not match the model.
Solution: The vehicle’s VIN must be provided for re-matching; self-grinding and use are prohibited.
9. Questions about material substitution
Important note: NAO material cannot be directly substituted for semi-metallic material; the entire system must be replaced.
10. Anti-counterfeiting verification
Solution: The laser anti-counterfeiting code can be verified through official channels; products lacking the three “no’s” are not eligible for warranty.

Note: All repairs involving the braking system must be performed by a licensed technician. Unauthorized repairs may void the warranty. It is recommended to check the remaining thickness of the brake pads every 10,000 kilometers (not less than 3 mm).
